Snippy

A video editing agent for your Sequence project

Snippy is Sequence's video editing agent. It organizes footage, syncs multicam, and builds assemblies or stringouts from the clips and selects you choose, directly in your shared project. Give it a task in plain language, then review and shape the result in the timeline.

Organize footage for the edit

Ask Snippy to create folders, move and rename assets, manage tags, or adjust selects. It can read transcripts and scan clip frames to help you find the material you want to work with.

Build an assembly or stringout

Point Snippy at the clips or selects you want to use and describe their order or the edit you need. It can create a timeline, add material, trim and move clips, and add titles or placeholders. You decide which takes belong in the story and shape the cut from there.

Prepare a multicam timeline

Snippy can create a multicam timeline, arrange camera and recorder angles, and add sync gaps to line up footage. Ask it to name the angles after their sources so the timeline is ready for you to review.

Keep creative decisions with your team

Snippy changes the real shared project. Collaborators see those changes, and a held timeline can block an edit until it is released. Specify the material and the changes you want, and review the result. Snippy is not a one-click rough-cut generator. AI usage is metered; see Pricing for allowances and additional usage charges.

Common questions

What is a video editing agent?

A video editing agent acts on editing tools from plain-language instructions. In Sequence, Snippy can organize library items and change a real timeline in your project, including adding, trimming, and moving clips.

Can an AI agent build a first assembly from my footage?

Snippy can build an assembly or stringout from the clips and selects you point it at. Tell it which material to use and how to arrange it, then review the timeline. It is not a one-click rough-cut generator.

Does Snippy work with collaborators?

Yes. Snippy works on the same shared project as your team. Its changes are visible to collaborators, and it can be blocked from changing a timeline while someone else holds it.

Does Sequence have a video editing MCP server?

Yes. Sequence MCP connects Claude, ChatGPT, Grok Bot, and Cursor Cloud Agents to Snippy's work in a Sequence project. See the Sequence MCP page for the server URL and setup instructions, or use Snippy directly inside Sequence.
