Connect ChatGPT to Sequence MCP to give Snippy tasks from your conversation. Ask it to organize footage or build an assembly from the clips and selects you choose, then open Sequence to review and shape the result.

Set up Sequence in ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins. Select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name the connection Sequence and add a description. Under Connection, enter the Sequence MCP server URL shown above, including the /mcp path.
- Choose OAuth for authentication and Client ID Metadata Documents (CIMD) if asked for a registration method. Review the connection notice, confirm that you want to continue, then select Create as a plugin.
- Install the resulting plugin. When prompted, sign in to Sequence and review the access request before allowing the connection.
- Start a new chat, type @, and select the Sequence plugin. Tell ChatGPT which workspace and project to use before asking Snippy to make changes.
Give Snippy a specific task
Replace the workspace, project, and material names in this example with your own:
In workspace Studio and project Short film, ask Snippy to build a stringout from the selects Intro, Interview answer, and Closing, in that order. Tell me when it is ready to review in Sequence.
ChatGPT account and workspace policies control whether you can add and use custom MCP servers. If the option is unavailable, check with your workspace administrator. Snippy changes the shared Sequence project, and collaborators see those changes. Name the workspace, project, and material you want to use, then review the result in Sequence. Which authentication method should I choose?
Choose OAuth when adding the Sequence MCP server. If ChatGPT asks for a registration method, choose Client ID Metadata Documents (CIMD). Sign in to Sequence and review the access request when prompted. You can revoke the connection in Sequence’s Connected Apps settings.
Why can’t I add a custom MCP server in ChatGPT?
