Can I import or export timelines between Sequence and FCP/Pr/Resolve/Avid/etc.?
Not at this time.
Currently, Sequence's data format is not compatible with other applications.
However, we are working on a way to import and export timelines between Sequence and other applications, using FCP7 XML packages and aligning with OTIO standards. Please reach out to us if this is something you are interested in and have ideas for how to see it work.

What happens if Sequence crashes?
We try to isolate parts of Sequence so that if one part fails, other parts can still work. But, in the event something uncaught causes a crash, you will see an error in the preview letting you know somehting went wrong.
Once this happens, the page will countdown to automatically refresh, or you can refresh the page yourself. Since everything in Sequence is saved, no work should be lost from the crash, and your session will restart where you left off.
If you experience repeated crashes or lost work from a crash, please let us know by submitting an issue.

Where are my assets stored?
Sequence stores your assets in the cloud, so you can access them from anywhere. We use Google Cloud Storage to store your assets, which is a highly secure and reliable storage solution.
Instead of caching versions of the files client-side for editing, we keep all the assets centralized in our cloud project service, and do all the compositing and rendering in the cloud, then stream that back to you in realtime.
This allows us to provide a seamless editing experience, and also allows us to provide a robust collaboration experience.

Why isn't the preview showing the right thing?
You might find that sometimes the preview isn't showing what you expect to see based off the content in the timeline.
This is most often do to a desync between the timeline and preview that we are actively working to improve. But fret not, if you refresh the page, the timeline should reload and preview as expected.
If you can identify what is causing a desync for you or it's happening more than expected, please send an email to team@sequence.film.

Why was I disconnected from inactivity?
When you're working in a Sequence project, cloud hardware is constantly running to give you a smooth experience, and the video stream is always broadcasting.
To save on resources for both Sequence and the editor, we disconnect you from the project if you're inactive for 5 minutes. This means that if you're not interacting with the editor, you'll be disconnected.
Upon returning to a disconnected project, interacting with it will automatically refresh the page and start a new session. This will not affect your work, as everything is saved in real time.
Your project will not be disconnected due to inactivity if playback is in progress.
