Premiere links to media already on your disks and edits the moment a clip links. Sequence uploads every file into the cloud project first — a clip is playable once processing finishes in the background.

What's different#
| In Premiere | In Sequence |
|---|---|

Ingest in Sequence#
For bulk, local-media ingest, mount the project with Sequence Shuttle (macOS only) and copy files onto that drive. On Windows, or for a one-off file, drag it onto the Sequence window or use the library + button. Track progress in the jobs chip either way. See Add media to your project, Get started with Shuttle, and Background jobs and the progress queue.
Premiere and After Effects projects can't be imported
Sequence rejects .prproj and .aep files with an Unsupported file message — there's no Premiere-project import. Interchange comes through .otio and .fcpxml, which Sequence stores as documents rather than rebuilding into a project.
